Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria. The Mental Health Research Institute's mission is to further knowledge in mental health, behaviour and neuroscience. Researchers work to investigate the nature, origins and causes of psychiatric diseases and apply the knowledge they gain to improve diagnosis, treatment and, ultimately, prevent mental illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. Translated Mental Health Information Directory now available on the website of the Victorian Transcultural Psychiatry Unit. This resource provides links to translated mental health information electronically available on Australian internet websites, listed alphabetically by mental health topic.

 

The Carers Network in conjunction with The Victorian Transcultural Psychiatry Unit has launched carer tips, available in seven languages.  These tips have been developed in response to carers seeking information.

 

Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). VCAT (General List) hears appeals from the Mental Health Review Board and has the power to confirm or overturn a decision of the Board.
